The Tricine system is a modification of the tris-glycine discontinuous buffer system developed by Schaegger and von Jagow specifically for peptides and low molecular weight proteins. In this system the tricine replaces the glycine in the running buffer, resulting in more efficient stacking and de-stacking of low molecular weight proteins and higher resolution of smaller peptides.Transfer For transfer of proteins to a membrane, we recommend using Novex Tris-Glycine Transfer Buffer for traditional wet transfer using the Mini Blot Module. Alternatively, rapid semi-dry transfer can be performed using the Invitrogen Power Blotter or rapid dry transfer using the iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device.
