It is a water-soluble vitamin B essentially involved in the synthesis of fatty acids and in gluconeogenesis. Biotin is found in plants and animals and its Biotin-(ring-6,6-d2) is also known as coenzyme R-(ring-6,6-d2). This product is used as an internal analytical standard for the quantitation of biotin concentration in dietary supplements, fortified foods or within a complex biological matrix.
